Nick is too tall for England!
Nick has worked since he was 13 when he found a job in a local pet store.  He described the position as a “Sanitation Engineer for Small Domestic Animals”.  After a few years he became a retail sales person with Sport Mart who offer an excellent training program.

In the summer of 2001, after his first year at UBC, Nick took on the challenge of the Student Works Franchise for Nanaimo.  The training was scheduled whilst he was still in classes - on weekends, and he learned how to estimate painting jobs, recruit, hire and train student painters – all the skills he needed to run the business.  Student Works dealt with all the paperwork for paying the students, the suppliers and the GST.

After three years at UBC and three summers with Student Works, Nick took advantage of our offer of an aeroplan points trip anywhere in the world.  He chose Thailand – and had a great time.  When he came home, he decided to put off finishing his degree and moved to Whistler where his experience in Sport Mart landed him a job with IntraWest as a boot fitter in a CanSki store.  This meant he could ski for free as anyone who works for Intra West has to know all about skiing!

In the summer he joined the Student Works operation in Whistler as production manager.
